Upcoming workshops:

"Planning for North Carolina’s Future: Ask the Climate Question"
March 2-3, 2010, McKimmon Center at N.C. State University in Raleigh
This Climate Change Adaptation Workshop is for participants who are involved in planning, policy and decision making at a local, regional or state level in North Carolina. Whether planning for land use, transportation, infrastructure, natural resources, cultural resources, public health, economic development, tourism, real estate, insurance or emergency management – your sector will be affected.

This workshop will: increase knowledge and awareness of climate change science and the projected impacts to various regions of North Carolina; provide available information on tools, resources and approaches to assess and address the effects of climate change; and enable participants to plan adaptation responses to projected impacts of climate change in their area.

Continuing Education Credit will be available: American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Local Elected Leaders Academy (LELA), Professional Engineers (PDH)

Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited. Pre-registration for the workshop is required. Register here.

The N.C. Natural Heritage Trust Fund, the first of four natural resource trust funds created and funded by the state, recently passed the 20-year mark.
